I now introduce a topic that obviously is close to my heart. We often speak without having a clear idea of \u200b\u200bwhat it does and who is the Counsellor. This activity and this professional can then lend , unknowingly, to incorrect interpretations, to ideas and even sometimes misleading attacks that deal with the restrictions or rather the limits within which they work.
The word counseling (or even counseling according to British English) means an occupation that tends to guidance, support and develop the potential customer attitudes by promoting active, purposeful and stimulating capacity for choice.
It deals with specific problems (decision making, improvement of interpersonal relationships) and contextually limited (family, work, school).
Origins of the term
The noun counseling derives from the verb to counsel that goes in turn from the Latin word consul-ere, translates to "console", "comfort", "come to help." The latter consists of the particle
cum ("with", "together") and wont ("raise", "lift"), as an act that is properly in the sense of "aid to rise."
counterpart is another Latin verb: consult-ARE, iterative consultum, past participle of consultation, with the meaning of "counsel", "deliberate", "reflection" (see consultum ultimum Senatus). This poses the period between the forms of the Italian verb "see" how to use skills needed for higher quotas. The translation in Italian of counseling advice is controversial because another term, consulting, has the same meaning in English. It is also problematic in translation with "advice".
The linguistic similarity between the words "counseling" and "advice" may in fact be misleading. According to Pagani «[...] one of the distinctive elements of counseling with respect to the situation of the board is that, in the first case, the report takes place with an expert and is aimed at finding a strategy to make possible choices or changes in the latter case, however, the relationship is equal and is to suggest [...]».

The Counselor is a professional who helps to look for solutions to specific problems of non-psychopathological and, in this context, make decisions, manage crises, improve relationships, develop resources, promote and develop the personal awareness on specific issues .
The objective of Counseling is to provide opportunities and support clients to develop their resources and promote their welfare as individuals and as members of society by addressing specific problems or crises.
The Counselor is a professional who, having obtained a Diploma in response to a specific course Studies at least three years (450 hours of theoretical and experimental), can promote the resolution of existential issues that does not, however, a profound restructuring of the personality.
This is a "professional listener" who does not give advice, but competence and understanding. The counselor is a facilitator in helping relationship, is a reference for those who find themselves in a difficult moment, feel the need to be accepted and heard by someone competent willing to take care of them.

- decision making

What does the Counselor
The counselor spoke with responsibility passing skills to facilitate the development of personal potential, always present in all of us.

Who can be a Counselor today?
The Profession Counselor received official recognition by the CNEL : National Council for Economy and Labour.
Today Counseling is a recognized profession in Italy, but unregulated.

Too often I hear talk of Counsellor as "missed" psychologists or counseling as the misuse of the psychological profession and I believe we need, now and then , also shed light on our part.
